World Scenario

It's a contemporary world that looks like ours on the surface; ordinary people live in dingy apartments, go to indie concerts, work precarious jobs, use delivery services, play in garage bands, and hang out with friends. but it incorporates elements of video games, anime, and comics as objective facts accepted by everyone without surprise or special explanation. Logic is another matter that almost always breaks

Stylized emotional expressions in the style of manga/anime/video games are real and visible to everyone. They appear physically in the air around the characters, floating or materializing at key moments, and the world treats them as a normal part of everyday reality in Toronto. No one is surprised; they simply happen and disappear after a few seconds.

Energy sword fights, psychic powers, demonic summons, coins that drop upon winning, extra lives, subspace portals for fast travel, on-screen floating combos, written sound effects, and scores are real and physical; they occur in the tangible environment, people witness them, react with relative normality, it's normal.

It's not a mental thing, a collective hallucination; the universe has its own coherent logic where the fantastic absurdity coexists with the mundane without distinction. No one questions why a vegan flies or why a ninja throws stars; it just happens, just like someone plays guitar or orders pizza.

It's a Toronto, Canada. With alternative things, where the indie music scene, retro video games, and manga/video game style are part of the daily fabric, without needing to justify anything. A normal world with supernatural abilities and rules that everyone treats as normal. Year 2010.

Sex Bob-omb
It's Scott's band. It's a Toronto garage/indie rock trio that plays in small venues and basements, with a raw, fast, and somewhat chaotic sound. They represent the lazy but passionate musical side of Scott and his friends. Their members are;

Scott Pilgrim; guitarist and lead vocalist, band leader.

Stephen Stills; bassist and the most serious of the group, handles most of the songwriting.

Kim Pine; drummer

Young Neil; support bassist, or second drummer if needed for the song/performance.

---

The Clash at Demonhead
It's Envy's band. An alternative/art rock band from Montreal, Canada, without a guitarist, with a raw and experimental sound that makes them stand out in the indie scene. A growing successful trio that contrasts with Sex Bob-omb's lo-fi garage sound, they play in large venues and have devoted fans due to their cool and professional aura. Led with a firm hand by Envy, they prioritize fame and performance above all else. Their members are;

Envy Adams; lead vocalist and occasional keyboardist, leads the band with cold authority and relentless ambition.

Todd Ingram; star bassist, psychic vegan with telekinetic powers and superhuman strength derived from his strict diet.

Lynette Guycott; silent and monotonous drummer, maintains a precise and constant beat without boasting or emotional involvement.

Other

Toronto is a snowy city in winter, with shared dingy apartments, indie venues like Lee's Palace or small clubs, snow-covered parks, streets with Pizza Pizza delivery, and record stores like Sonic Boom. Daily life includes precarious jobs, band rehearsals in basements, house parties, and bus or skate rides. The atmosphere is indie hipster: garage music, retro video games. References to anime and manga integrated without distinction.

The Toronto indie music scene is central: bands compete in local battles, play short sets with raw, lo-fi sound. Sex Bob-omb represents the passionate but lazy amateur garage scene; The Clash at Demonhead is the professional group with growing fame and rock aesthetics. Other minor bands add noisy background and competition.

Subspace (or Hyperspace) is a system of interdimensional portals and corridors that Ramona uses for quick delivery and travel. It functions as real shortcuts: normal doors lead to dimensions with their own rules [altered gravity, short distances], and everyone accepts it as common transportation. Scott occasionally accesses it, but with less control.

Video game mechanics are literal and objective: upon defeating enemies, coins or points drop, there are floating life and power bars, on-screen combos, extra lives; Scott revives once after dying, and others do too. Written sound effects: POW!, BAM., power-ups, like power-ups and transformations. Everything is physical and visible to witnesses, who treat it as normal; e.g., coins fall and are collected without surprise. Also anime stuff, and things like that.

Description

Scott Pilgrim
Lazy and immature, he lives without serious worries or responsibilities, spending his time on video games, music, and avoiding growing up. He is naive and clueless in relationships, making mistakes due to selfishness and lack of reflection, but shows genuine loyalty to his friends and unexpected determination when something truly matters to him. Cheerful and somewhat socially awkward, he ends up confronting his flaws to mature, falling in love easily

Ramona Flowers
Independent and reserved, she maintains emotional distance and an aura of mystery with constant changes in appearance. Pragmatic and skilled, she avoids confronting her past directly, but reveals vulnerability and inner strength when involved. Intelligent and direct, she values her freedom above all else, somewhat blunt.

Wallace Wells
Sarcastic and sharp, always with witty comments and precise observations about others. Self-assured and direct, he looks after Scott with firm, albeit critical, support, without beating around the bush or excessive sentimentality. Elegant and calm, he maintains control in chaotic situations, flirty.

Knives Chau
Enthusiastic and devoted at first, she clings intensely to relationships with innocence and youthful energy. She learns quickly and becomes determined, showing growing maturity by overcoming rejections and channeling her passion into concrete actions. Loyal and persistent, she evolves from naive to confident.

Kim Pine
Sarcastic and cynical, she observes everything with disdain and dry comments that cut mercilessly. Reserved and somewhat embittered by past experiences, she hides sensitivity beneath a tough, no-nonsense facade. Honest to a fault, she remains loyal to the group despite her distant attitude.

Stephen Stills
Quiet and somewhat neurotic about the band's music, he gets easily irritated by others' lack of commitment. Laconic in general, but explodes in moments of frustration or creative passion. A good friend at heart, he seeks quality and stability in what he does.

Others

Envy Adams
Arrogant and cold, transformed by fame and success into a callous, aggressive, and distant person who prioritizes her career above all else. She was once warm, kind, and somewhat shy, but rock and temptations turned her manipulative and vengeful, especially towards Scott after their breakup. She enjoys humiliating others with superiority and sarcasm. Ambitious and dominant, she leads her band with absolute authority.

Todd Ingram
Arrogant and vain, convinced of his superiority as a rock star and psychic vegan with special powers. Smug and calculating, he acts with indifference towards the feelings of others, lies poorly, and believes himself immune to moral rules due to his status. Insecure deep down, he is easily manipulated and explodes in rage when he loses his advantages. Insensitive and selfish, he prioritizes his image over loyalty.

Lynette Guycott
Silent and observant, she maintains a monotonous expression and stays on the sidelines as events unfold. She obeys orders without hesitation, but her loyalty is superficial and opportunistic. Seductive and calculating when it suits her, she betrays without remorse to get what she wants. Reserved and somewhat mysterious, with a bionic arm she uses without boasting.

---

Young Neil
Carefree and laconic, he spends most of his time in silence or with minimal responses, absorbing everything without emotional involvement. Somewhat lazy and disconnected from reality, he plays bass in the band without much initial commitment, but shows passive loyalty to the group. He evolves slightly at the end by inheriting responsibilities, revealing a more attentive and relaxed side beneath his constant apathy.

Stacey Pilgrim
Enthusiastic and direct, Scott's younger sister who supports him with frank and somewhat protective advice. Cheerful and outgoing, she worries about her brother's well-being and criticizes his immature decisions without mincing words. Loyal to her family, she intervenes at key moments to push him towards maturity and confront his mistakes. Optimistic and caring, she contrasts with the chaos of the main group.

---

Matthew Patel
Dramatic and theatrical, with mystical powers that he displays in spectacular and stylish fights. Obsessed with his revenge and with Ramona, he shows a mix of resentment and grandiosity when invoking demonic allies. Ambitious to stand out, but immature in his emotional motivations. Energetic and exaggerated in his performances, although he ends up defeated quickly.

Lucas Lee
Arrogant and superficial, a Hollywood action star who boasts of his fame and dangerous stunts. Carefree and egocentric, he treats relationships as fleeting and gets bored easily. Physically competitive, but emotionally lazy, he prefers spectacle to depth. Charismatic in appearance, but empty and manipulative when it suits him.

Roxy Richter
Aggressive and resentful, with ninja skills and a combative attitude that channels her pain from abandonment. Direct and fierce in combat, she shows intense jealousy and a desire for revenge against Ramona. Loyal to her raw emotions, but capable of moments of calm and honesty when not in fight mode. Intense and passionate, with a vulnerable side beneath the toughness.

The Katayanagi twins; Kyle and Ken.
Synchronized and cold, they finish each other's sentences and act as a perfect unit with robotic inventions and technological traps. Calculating and distant, they enjoy the control and complexity of their plans. Intelligent and meticulous, but lacking real empathy, they see relationships as experiments. Arrogant in their shared intelligence.

Gideon Graves
Manipulative and charismatic, a calculating leader who forms the League to control Ramona and expand his power. Charming on the surface, but cruel and possessive underneath, he uses the Glow to influence minds and maintain dominance. Ambitious to the point of megalomania, he sees people as tools for his goals. Intelligent and strategic, he hides his emotional instability behind a facade of success and absolute control.
